When Apple discovers that a component or service in one of its products is not functioning correctly, it creates an exchange or repair program. aa |mac is authorised to inspect, analyse and repair all devices under Apple’s exchange and repair extension programs.
Apple has determined that, in a limited number of 13-inch MacBook Pro (non Touch Bar) units, a component may fail causing the built-in battery to expand. This is not a safety issue and Apple will replace eligible batteries, free of charge.
Affected units were manufactured between October 2016 and October 2017 and eligibility is determined by the product serial number. Use the serial number checker https://www.apple.com/uk/support/13inch-macbookpro-battery-replacement/ to see if your device qualifies for this program.
If your 13-inch MacBook Pro (non Touch Bar) has an eligible serial number, Apple will replace the battery, free of charge. This program does not affect 13-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar or older 13-inch MacBook Pro models.
Keyboard Service Program for MacBook and MacBook Pro. Apple has determined that a small percentage of the keyboards in certain MacBook and MacBook Pro models may exhibit one of more of the following behaviors:
- Letters or characters repeat unexpectedly.
- Letters or characters do not appear. Key(s) feel “sticky” or do not respond in a consistent manner.
- Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider will service eligible MacBook and MacBook Pro keyboards, free of charge.
The type of service will be determined after the keyboard is examined and may involve the replacement of one or more keys or the whole keyboard.
Anti-reflective Coating Issues on Retina-based MacBook and MacBook Pros – On MacBook and MacBook Pro models with Retina displays, the anti-reflective display coating may rub off or delaminate under certain circumstances. If you have an issue with the appearance of your display, please call us to confirm confirm eligibility. If an issue with the AR coating is found, we can replace the affected Retina Display.
Apple will authorize coverage within four (4) years from the original date of purchase.

iPhone 6s Program for Unexpected Shutdown Issues – Apple has determined that a very small number of iPhone 6s devices may unexpectedly shut down. This is not a safety issue and only affects devices within a limited serial number range that were manufactured between September and October 2015. If you have experienced this issue, please call us to see if your iPhone 6s is eligible for a battery replacement, free of charge.
iMac 27-inch Hinge issue for 27-inch, Late 2012 and 27-inch, Late 2013 – Some 27-inch iMac computers that shipped from December 2012 to July 2014 may be affected by an issue with the display hinge. You may no longer be able to adjust the screen, or it may tilt forward. Provided your iMac meets all of the criteria, this repair will be covered at no charge for five (5) years from the original date of purchase. Please call us to check for details.
